Meet Your Coach

Background and Experience
Coach Kyle is a seasoned runner with over 30 years of dedication to the sport, complemented by an extensive background in athletics that spans nearly three decades. A two-time All Canadian in track and field for the 800m, and once in the 10km cross country, Kyle has competed for the University of Guelph Gryphons, showcasing his prowess on both the national and collegiate stages. His Olympic trials participations in 2004, 2008, and 2012 for the 1500m and 5000m races underscore his high-level competitive spirit and expertise.


Transition to Road Racing
After a successful track career, Kyle transitioned to road racing, setting impressive personal records with a half marathon best of 1:10:25 in Philadelphia, and a marathon time of 2:43 in Toronto (2016). His participation in prestigious marathons like the New York City Marathon (2018) and representation of Canada in Mountain Racing (2010) further highlight his versatile athletic capabilities.


Coaching Philosophy
Now a dedicated coach and single father of twins, Kyle understands the challenges that come with balancing a full-time job, family responsibilities, and personal aspirations. He has faced injuries, setbacks, and mental health challenges, equipping him with the empathy and flexibility to tailor running plans that fit the diverse lives of his athletes.
